Washington postpones transferring its embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem

The US President George W. Bush announced yesterday that he has postponed for 6 months the transfer of the US embassy in Israel from tel Aviv to occupied Jerusalem.
In a memorandum addressed to the US secretary of state Colin Powell Bush said that this decision " is necessary for protecting the national security interests of the USA. He said:" my administration is still committed to start the operation of transferring our embassy to Jerusalem." Bush vowed to transfer the embassy to occupied Jerusalem during his elections campaign in 2000.
