Israeli forces start annexation of Ariel settlement in the depth of the west bank, Israeli Apache assassinates one Palestinian
Palestine-Israel, Politics, 6/15/2004
Two Palestinians were killed, one of them is a member in al-Aqsa group and other three wounded when an Israeli helicopter fired a missile that hit their car in Balatah camp for the Palestinian refugees near Nablus in the West Bank.
Palestinian security sources said that Khalil Marshoud ( 25 year old), the local official for al-Aqsa group in Balatah camp was killed together with Awad Abu Zeid, the member in the movement, in the Israeli attack of their car. For its part, the Israeli military radio confirmed the news of the attack launched by the Israeli helicopter.
Al-Aqsa group commander in Jenin -- and one of the main leaders in the West Bank Zakareya al-Zubeidi -- said that the groups will not halt its operations against Israel, only if four conditions are met: withdrawal from the occupied lands; breaking the siege from President Yasser Arafat, removing the settlements and releasing the prisoners.
He welcomed statements made by the Israeli prime minister Ahmad Qrei concerning the formation of a committee to follow up the groups, considering that the question of getting its cadres involved in the security system is up to each and every member, individually.
The occupation forces detained today in the West Bank 10 Palestinians from Fatah and the Islamic Jihad movements during breaking in operations in Jenin city and camp.
In another development, the Israeli occupation forces started works of annexing Ariel settlements which is situated in the depth of the West Bank into the separation wall.
Palestinian negotiation affairs minister Saeb Oreikat said that Israel's decision to build a wall around Ariel settlement means " destruction of all the Roadmap." He continued that the decision to build the wall is a " breaking for all promises given by President George Bush not to build this wall."
