Al-Shara confers with Palestinian minister

Syria's Foreign Minister Farouk al-Shara Sunday received the Culture Minister in the Palestinian National Authority ( PNA ),Yahya Yakhlaf, and the Minister of the Palestinian Presidency Affairs, Ramzi Khouri.

Talks during the meeting dealt with the latest developments in the occupied Palestinian territories.

Both sides stressed "the necessity of enhancing the Palestinian national unity as it is the basic pillar to restore the usurped rights and the assurance of the world support to the Palestinian people."

Later, Yakhlaf said the Syrian-Palestinian relations acquire a special importance thanks to the pan-Arab role Syria plays vis-a-vis the Arab issues.

In a statement following the meeting with al-Shara, Yakhlaf told reporters that the Syrian stance is clear in supporting the Palestinian people, their cause and national unity, referring to the importance of coordination in this sensitive stage.

He expressed the PNA's condemnation of the US pressures and the sanctions on Syria.
