Palesinian groups resume dialogue in Gaza and then Cairo; Olmert proposes total control of al-Aqsa
Palestine-Egypt, Politics, 6/10/2004

The Palestinian groups in Gaza started an internal dialogue attended by leaders of the security departments in order to draw plans to run the Gaza sector after the Israeli withdrawal, while these groups are expected to meet shortly with the Egyptians to discuss Cairo's role in this matter.

Hamas's representative in Lebanon Osama Hamdan told reporters " we, as Hamas and Palestinian groups will meet with the Egyptians.. So far there is no final dates." Egypt, however, had proposed aid to reform the Palestinian security forces in order to fill the gap as soon as Israel dismantles its settlements in the sector.

Hamdan said " we are not in need to a great effort to arrange our internal conditions as Palestinian, to that we are not in need to any side to teach us how to arrange our conditions." He added " We, as Palestinians proposed administration projects in Gaza. In all there was an agreement on the main rules and basics if the Israeli withdrawal from Gaza is maintained." Replying to a question on his assessment of Egypt's interference and its role in Gaza, Hamdan said " Until this moment we are in need of an Egyptian- Palestinian dialogue to assess this Egyptian role."
