Mubarak refused to talk only three minutes in the summit
Egypt-Regional, Politics, 6/10/2004

One Egyptian official said ysterday justifying the rejection of the invitation sent to Mubarak to take part in the G-8 summit that the organizers of the Summit proposed to him the chance to talk for 3 minutes at the lunch banquet. A matter which he thinks does not deserve running the risks of travelling for thousands of miles to the USA.

Washington had invited each of Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia and Morocco to take part in the summit but they refused because of their reservations on the American initiative for reform.
