Syria bans activities of parties and political and legal societies
The ruling Baath Party in Syria has decided to ban the activities of all not officially licensed political parties and societies that were used to be so far ignored while working, according to the Syrian activist and lawyer in the human rights field Anwar al-Bunni.

Gull, Mubarak discuss Iraq, Palestine and Cyprus
Following his meeting with the Egyptian President Hosni Mumarak in Cairo yesterday, the Turkish foreign minister Abdullah Gull played down the issue of confiscating weapons sent to Egypt from Istanbul port.
