Free trade agreement to be signed soon between Egypt and Turkey
Egypt-Turkey, Economics, 6/7/2004

The Turkish Ambassador in Egypt said the Egyptian-Turkish relations are strong, noting that President Mubarak's visit to Turkey had helped enhance relations between the two countries.

The Turkish official expressed hope to increase the volume of trade and investment exchange between the two countries for establishing a free trade area between both countries.

The visit of Turkish Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul to Egypt, during which he'll deliver a message to President Mubarak from Turkish President Ahmet Necdet Sezer comes as part of consultations between both countries, he added.

Gul's talks in Cairo will tackle the issues of the Greater Middle East, Iraq, Palestine and Cyprus, he said, noting that Minister of Foreign Trade Youssef Boutros Ghali will soon visit Turkey to sign a free trade agreement between both countries.
