Armed forces attacks violates civil reconciliation in Algeria

The atmospheres of violence which were renewed in Algeria through a series of attacks that targeted its regular forces the last of which resulted in killing 10 soldiers and wounding 16 in al-Kbyle area to the East of the capital overwhelmed the " civil reconciliation" policy.
The number of vitims in the lines of the regular forces reached to 20 killing and 40 wounded during last week in ambushes attributed in most of them to major armed forces in the country. The army launched a large scale operation to arrest tha attackers, but no news came on detention acts in their lines.
The French language daily al-Watan said on Saturday that "terrorists are increasing their courgae and activity over strikings in various parts of the national territory," noting that it is evident in these recent developments that national reconciliation " the pardoning law" has not achieved any of its objectives.
However, the Algerian President Abdul Aziz Butaflika achieved a great success in a second Presidential term of office in the recent presidential elections as he had built his electoral campaign on the principle of national reconciliation and putting an end to the cycle of violence which has been disturbing the country since 12 years.
The leadership of "al-Salafeyah group for call and the fighting" which had recently adopted the killing of 10 Algerian soldiers opposes the government initiative for civil reconcliation, stressing that its fighting against " the secular authorities" has not ended yet.
The French Language Algerian daily Liberty criticized the national reconciliation and the silence of the government concerning the recent acts of killings.
The attacks of al-Salafeyah group are concentrated in al-Kbyle area which is inhabited by the Berber majority and announced responsibility for kidnapping 32 foreign tourists in 2003.
More than 150,000 persons most of them are civilians were killed in Algeria since the beginning of the activities of the Islamic armed groups in 1992 after the army abrogated the results of legislative elections the banned Islamic front for salvation was in its way to winning.
