Morocco's Laalou sets world's season best in 800 m

Moroccan athlete, Amine Laalou, on Wednesday set the world's season best of the Milan Grand Prix, part of the IAAF fixtures.
Laalou ran the distance in 1:44.76, a World season best which improved the 1:45.01 run by Bram Som in Hengelo last Monday. He also broke his own record.
22-year old Laalou, who came in 4th at the indoors meet of Budapest, was followed by Kenyan-born Bahraini, Kamal Youssouf, who produced an astonishing second place in 1:45.44 ahead of the 2000 World junior champion Nicholas Wachira from Kenya, third in 1:46.11.
Silver medallist at the African 2001 U-20 African championship held in Mauritius, he had also won the north African championship in Tunisia last year and reached the quarter-finals of the 2003 outdoors world championship of Paris.
