Three members of the security forces killed in southern east Algeria

Three members of the Algerian security forces were killed and other 11 injured in an ambush implanted by one armored group in a mountainous area in al-Auras, southern east of the capital.

The two Algerian al-Khabar and al-Shourouk dailies quoted security sources as saying that a military vehicle including joint forces of the army and the police and the municipal guards was exposed to an intensive fire when it was running on Tuesday on the road between al-Adeed and al-Nawader area in Batenah estate, 430 Km to the southern East of the capital.

However, depsite the decrease in the number of attacks since Summer of 2003, these are still continuous and resulting in casualties. Since the beginning of May, according to statistics based on official and press statements in Algeria, at least 32 persons were killed and acts of violence since the beginning of this year resulted in killing 250 persons - half of them are gunmen - according to a similar statistics.
