Moroccan FM to visit Algeria
Morocco-Algeria, Politics, 5/28/2004

Moroccan foreign affairs and cooperation minister, Mohamed Benaissa, is expected Saturday in Algiers, an Algerian governmental source announced on Thursday.

The Moroccan official's visit mainly aims to discuss bilateral relations, the source added.

Morocco and Algeria are at loggerheads over the latter's direct backing to the Polisario, a guerrilla movement that claims the separation from Morocco of the Sahara. Morocco had retrieved this territory in 1975 from Spanish occupation under the Madrid accord.
