Mubarak in Moscow

President Hosni Mubarak of Egypt has started an official visit to Moscow during which he will be meeting with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin and discuss with him the current situation in the Middle East and discuss the " Greater Middle East initiative " aiming at introducing reforms to the region.
It is, however, decided that Putin will receive President Mubarak today in the Kremlin. This is the third official visit held by the Egyptian President to Moscow since he assumed power in 1981.
Mubarak told the Russian " Inter- Tass" news agency in Bucharest where he had concluded an official visit to Romania, before leaving for Moscow that terrorism is an international phenomenon and will be spread if not be fought now appropriately, legally and through the UN.
He called for holding new talks in order to ensure a peaceful settlement for the conflict in the Middle east. He said that violence can not solve any thing. Prior to Mubarak's visit, the spokesman for the Russian foreign ministry indicated identical views between the two countries towards the situation in Iraq. He said that the two sides prefer Iraq to restore complete sovereignty as soon as possible and to maintain its territorial unity and enhancing the role of the UN in rebuilding Iraq.
