Syrian FM meets with Palestinian official

Foreign Minister Farouk al-Shara on Thursday discussed the deteriorating situation in the Palestinian occupied territories with Secretary of the Palestinian National Initiative, Mustafa Barghouthi.
Talks dealt with the situation in the Palestinian territories in light of the "war of inhalation which is staged by the Israeli forces of occupation escalation against the unarmed Palestinian people."
Al-Shara stressed the "importance of the Palestinian people's national unity because it poses as the guarantee of steadfastness in front of the Israeli war machine;" noting this comes to achieve the Palestinian people's legitimate targets of liberation and the building of the independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.
