Amir of Qatar calls for purifying relations between Muslims, Christians

The Amir of Qatar Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa al-Thani called for eliminating impediments of relations between Muslims and Christians.
In a speech delivered on his behalf by the prime minister of Qatar Sheikh Abdullah Bin Khalifa al-Thani in the inauguration of the second seminar for the Islamic- Christian dialogue, he said that convening this seminar in Qatar is of great importance because it coincides with what we are facing of grave implications threatening, peace, security and stability and because this meeting signifies efforts to highlight sublime values advocated by Islam and Christianity."
The Amir of Qatar said that he had dealt in his speech delivered in 2003 certain obstacles facing means of co-operation and interaction between the followers of the two divine religions and the need to find out the origins of these obstacles so as to avoid them.
The Amir of Qatar also reviewed in his speech basic principles, dialogue should be stemmed from, to that the Islamic and Christian religions are based in believing in one God and that the true faith has come to serve man and bringing him better life and disseminating peace and amity and building the earth.
During the seminar, 8 close- door sessions will be held in addition to a forum of discussions open to the public including residents and citizens in Qatar. Some 72 prominent religious and secular figures from 21 Arab and foreign countries are taking part in the deliberations of the seminar.
