Israeli escalation in the West Bank, Turkey renews mediation
Palestine-Israel, Politics, 5/27/2004

Two Palestinians were wounded by the bullets of the Israeli occupation forces in Nablus, the West Bank. News reports said that the occupation soldiers opened fire at a group of youngsters who were throwing stones at them and one young man was injured seriously while a 13 year old youth was also wounded.

The Israeli occupation forces, however, imposed curfew on Tuesday on the area surrounding al-Haram al-Ibraheimi in Hebron after one Israeli settler was slightly wounded as a group of Palestinians threw one explosive at a group of armed Israeli settlers.

This, however, coincided with the Israeli forces detention of 10 Palestinians in Doura city in Hebron and other adjoining areas.

At the political field, the Israeli infrastructure minister Youssef Baritzski said that the Turkish prime minister Receb Tayeb Ardogan renewed his mediation offer between Israel and each of the Palestinians and Syria.

The Israeli minister added after his meeting with Ardogan in Ankara that the Turkish prime minister strongly criticized the continued operations of the Israeli army in Gaza and said that these operations do to not bring peace.
