Morocco-Kuwait, Politics, 5/26/2004
Speaker of the Moroccan House of Advisors (Senate), Mustapha Oukacha, pleaded here Monday for privileged relations with Kuwait.
This came at a meeting with a visiting Kuwaiti parliamentary delegation, representing the Moroccan-Kuwaiti Friendship Group at the Kuwaiti Council of Umma (parliament).
Oukacha said the constant development of parliamentary relations between the two states, is the result of two distinguished democratic experiences in the Arab states, a press release said. He added that this will help consolidate cooperation, dialogue and coordination on issues of common interest.
Oukacha also hailed the "particular interest" of different Kuwaiti institutions in the political and economic development of Morocco.
On his part, president of the Kuwaiti delegation, deputy Salem Abdallah Al Hamad, said his country wants to benefit from the Moroccan experience that is "a source of pride to Arabs."
Al Hamad earlier met with Speaker of the House of Representatives, Abdelouahed Radi with whom he discussed bilateral cooperation and the importance of an Arab joint action to "take up current and future challenges."
