Saudi Arabia detains three over links to an attack on security forces

Saudi Arabia's security sources announced that three persons were detained and one car was seized used in an attack against the security forces in Breida city to the center of the country last week.

The same sources said that the men were detained in Aneiza city, situated to the south of Breida on Sunday, and one of them has the plate number of a jeep car presumed to be used in the attack took place on Thursday.

The police found the same car later when they broke into an empty villa in Breida, 320 Km to the north of Riyadh.

Security sources said yesterday that a car was used in the capital Riyadh expected to be used on Saturday by gunmen in killing one German in Riyadh on Saturday.

Breida attacks came following a series of attacks that targeted the security forces deployed on al-Qasim road to the north of Riyadh. Six persons were killed at least in two separate attacks in April.

Moreover, two security men were killed in Breida last Thursday when fire was opened at a running car after the security forces broke into a place suspected to be a hiding for Islamists and four persons were killed as a result.
