AL chief for amending Charter

Arab League Secretary General Amr Moussa stressed that the Arab League approval of amending the Arab League charter and the economic and social council represents a turning point in the Arab joint action.

In an interview given to Egyptian TV on Tuesday, Moussa pointed out that the AL charter will be amend according to proposals presented to the Arab summit among which the establishment of a Shoura Council or an Arab Parliament, an Arab Court of Justice and an Arab Investment Bank, in addition to the amending of the way of voting on the decisions of the Arab League Council to become in the majority not in unanimously.

He explained that the proposals also include imposing penalties on the states that aren't committed to the Council's decisions.
