Syria, Politics, 5/25/2004

The secretary general of the banned Kurdish progressive democratic party in Syria, Aziz Daoud, said yesterday that the Syrian authorities released yesterday 27 Syrian Kurdish teenagers detained following al-Qamishli and Damascus incidents in the mid of March.

Dawoud said that the teenagers investigation judge informed parents of the teenagers to come and get their children who were sentences to penalties ranging between one month to 3 year imprisonment.

Member in the human rights society in Syria lawyer Anwar al-Bunni said that the Syrian authorities dropped accusations on the teenager because of their age.
