Scores killed in fighting in Somalia
Officials at the UN said that 60 persons at least were killed and other 200 wounded in Somalia last week, while news reported of renewed violence in the capital Mogadishu.

Al-Fahoum: no nearby settlement between Damascus and Fatah
The chairman of the Palestinian national salvation committee, Khaled al-Fahoum, ruled out the possibility of achieving a settlement between Damascus and the leadership of the Fatah movement on their points of difference at the meantime, despite, however, the relative improvement of their bilateral relations.

Continued clashes in Najaf, Karbala
News reports in Najaf said that violent confrontations erupted between the American occupation forces and members of al-Mahdi army which belongs to the Shiite Clergy Muqtada al-Sader. The news reports said that the clashes took place in the area situated between " 20th revolution" and Wadi al-Salam cemetery at the northern entrance of the city.
