Al-Assad confers with Kuwait's FM

Syria's President Bashar al-Assad on Wednesday received Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed al-Sabah and an accompanying delegation at al-Rawda Palace.

Talks during the meeting dealt with the Arab situation, particularly in Iraq and the bilateral coordination between the two states, as well as the forthcoming Arab summit.

Meantime, Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammad al-Sabah stressed his country's support to Syria and its just positions towards current challenges.

In a statement to reporters Wednesday, Sabah underlined that Syria and Kuwait are in the same trench, pointing out that Syria under the leadership of President Bashar al-Assad adopts a correct and wise stand based on dialogue as best means for resolving pending issues between Syria and the United States.

He also expressed his country's concern over the security instability in Iraq and its dangerous repercussions on neighboring countries, including Syria and Kuwait.
