Syria - EU co-operation in Arab Gas line project

Syria's Oil and Mineral Resources Minister Ibraheem Haddad on Sunday conferred with the Vice Chairman of the European Commission Loyola De Palacio and an accompanying delegation on aspects of cooperation between Syria and EU, particularly in the field of Gas and Petroleum.

The minister briefed the delegation on what has been discussed during the meeting of Oil Ministers in Syria, Lebanon, Jordan and Egypt regarding issues of the "Arab Gas Line Project."

Both sides discussed the possibility of financing the economic and technical study to link the Arab Gas line with Europe, and its future infrastructure in addition to establishing a training center on Gas in Damascus under an EU assistance.
