Bandar: persons who abused the Iraqis do not represent the American people
Saudi Arabia-USA, Politics, 5/14/2004
The Saudi Arabian ambassador in Washington Prince Bandar Bin Sultan Bin Abdul Aziz has warned the Saudi media in dealing with the issue of abusing the Iraqi prisoners " over making the same mistake done by the American media when held the Saudi people responsible for few who carried out the attacks of September 11."
Prince Bandar said in statements quoted yesterday by the Saudi daily Okaz " doubtless, the treatment of certain American military men to several Iraqi prisoners in Abu Ghreib prison is a criminal act." He added " But we have to be cautious that the Saudi media will not commit the same mistake we suffered from by stereotyping by the American media and certain American politicians when it was found out that 15 criminals of the executors of September 11 against American were Saudis and then accusations were escalated against all Saudis that they are terrorists."
