Syria says US sanctions lacks credibility
Syria-USA, Politics, 5/13/2004
Syria on Wednesday said the economic sanctions set on Syria by US have lacked credibility and actual evidence.
The Syrian Arab News Agency SANA said Syria has been reiterating position on this decision which was also rejected by Arab Foreign Ministers meeting recently in Cairo.
" The Syrian position says these sanctions are in short of credibility and hard evidence," SANA said.
The agency warned against this ban would not serve the US people interests as the implemented policy of pressures and sanctions would not solve the region's problems but rather would make them more exacerbated.
SANA stressed the need of the constructive dialogue on the basis of mutual respect and joint interest as well the US contribution in providing security and stability requirements in the region.
