Al-Assad issues two decrees on increasing salaries

President Bashar al-Assad on Tuesday issued the legislative decree No. 30 for the year 2004 which provides for increasing the monthly wages and salaries by 20%. The salary increase covers all civilian and military employees in the ministries, administrations, public institutions and all state and joint establishments.

President Assad also issued the legislative decree No. 31 for the year 2004 which provides for increasing the salaries of civilian and military retired employees, who are included by the effective laws of Retired, Insurance and Wages and the Social Insurances, by 20% of the monthly salary.
