BMW opens $60 million assembly plant in Egypt

The German BMW automobile company opened on Monday an assembly factory in the 6th of October city.
Minister of Industry Ali El-Saedi who attended the opening ceremony on behalf of Prime Minister Atef Ebeid said that the plant is an added value to national resources and helps create more job opportunities.
The $ 60 million project is built on a 39,000 square meters area, assembles about 10,000 cars a year and employs 500 workers.
The Minister added that the new factory's products will meet the local needs and export a part of it to the Arab and COMESA markets.
