Egypt, Culture, 5/11/2004

Egypt's First Lady Suzanne Mubarak, Chairperson of the National Council for Women (NCW) in an interview with AI-AHram daily newspaper, welcomed the establishment of a major institution specialized in distributing books and expressed her personal readiness to adopt the idea of preparing an Arabic-Arabic dictionary on latest developments that would contribute to maintaining Arab identity.

Meanwhile, Mrs. Mubarak lauded the achievements of the initiative of girls education and the civil society to contribute to build schools for girls in governorates throughout the country, particularly in the areas of female students drop-outs.

Mrs. Mubarak said "book industry is a message rather than a profession or a hobby."

ΚΚΚ "It contributes to the building of the child's knowledge structure and is deemed to be a basis for his psychological and social stability," she added.

In Islam, "Read" was the first message to Prophet Muhammad," she said.
