Japanese donation to Syrian health ministry

Japanese Ambassador in Damascus, Azusa Hayashi, on Monday handed over the Japanese grant of equipment to the Director of the Charity Medical Center of "Hekmat Mahjoub" in the Damascus Countryside city of "Housh Plas," in the presence of Health Minister Muhammad Eyad Ashatti and Damascus Countryside Governor.
On this occasion, Shatti referred to the standing cooperation between Syria and Japan, particularly on the medical level since April 1994, expressing Syria's gratitude to Japan's government and people.
The Japanese Ambassador, for his part, said that this grant is one of Japan's contributions in Syria in the framework of friendly ties between the two countries.
Hayashi stressed his country's care in the social and economic development and the achievement of peace in the world, adding Syria is a very important country thanks to its civilization and glorious history. He referred to the importance of enhancing the cooperation and friendly relation between Syria and Japan.
The Center offers medical services to scores of thousands of people in the city and its vicinity. It includes three surgery rooms, one intensive care room and a modern first aid Unit.
