Regional-USA, Politics, 5/7/2004
In a statement alleged to be attributed for al-Qaida, the leader of al-Qaida organization Osama Bin Laden proposed a reward for the one who kills the American administrator in Iraq Paul Bremer and the UN secretary general Kofi Annan.
The statement which was published on the Internet said that the organization will give 10 kg of gold as a reward to the one who can kill other officials including the UN envoy in Iraq al-Akhdar al-Ibraheimi.
Bin Laden also proposed one kg of Gold reward to every one who kills an American in Iraq.
This is, however, the first time in which the organization proposes rewards for killing international figures in what is considered a new unprecedented change in al-Qaida's policy.
However, the US had proposed a reward of USD 25 million to the one who gives information helping to arrest Bin Laden.
