Syria, Iceland establish Diplomatic relations

Syrian Permanent Envoy to UN Faisal Miqdad and Iceland's Permanent Envoy to UN on Thursday signed a joint agreement to establish diplomatic ties between Syria and Iceland.
In a joint statement following the signing, both sides expressed willingness to enhance understanding and strengthen the cooperation between the two peoples according to UN Charters, particularly respecting and enhancing the international security and stability and respecting the national sovereignty.
