A demonstration in Baqouba over changing the flag

Scores of Iraqis demonstrated yesterday over changing the Iraqi flag in Baqouba and they fired bullets in air.

Witnesses said that some 80 Iraqis gathered in front of al-Farouk mosque in the downtown of Baqouba and raised the Iraqi flag which they described as "original" and burnt the new flag after it was hit by their shoes, while chanting slogans like " There is No God but God, and American is the enemy of God."

Some of the demonstrators opened fire in air while others raised old Iraqi currencies carrying the image of the toppled Iraqi President Saddam Hussein and others for Muqtada al-Sader.
