Information Minister: information is the mirror for reflecting facts

Syria's Information Minister Ahmad al-Hassan on Sunday said " information is the mirror that reflects facts and eliminates illusions." In a lecture at the international exhibition of Rashid Karami, al-Hassan indicated that the Arab geography and history are threatened underlining the important role of the Arab information to make our voice reach the world.

" Differences of Arab stances over several Arab and international issues weaken our information and make them lose means of upgrading," the minister said.

" We are demanded to create an Arab information that upgrades to the level of the national responsibility, defends the peoples' rights, protects the Arab man's dignity and right and gives him the ability to participate, analyze and to criticize in order to be a creative person," Al-Hassan asserted.

He confirmed that, in Syria, "we are working to make the mass media deal with social issues of citizen and to have a massage that averts the bulk of falsifications aimed at deforming his mind."

" We are with the free information of the correct direction and not the one that is based on circulating articles in a way that contradict with our values and traditions," the minister concluded.
