Saudi Arabia says it had foiled large attacks

The Saudi minister of the Interior prince Nayef Bin Abdul Aziz said that the security forces foiled tremendous attacks in the Kingdom, noting they still chase a group of suspects in al-Ammareyah area.
In a press conference he held on Wednesday in al-Dahran, the eastern area of the Kingdom, prince Nayef said that the " security men foiled scores of cases which - God forbids- would have had happened." On the other hand, the Saudi minister stressed that Saudi security forces are chasing a group of suspects in al-Ammareyah area to the west of Riyadh.
The Saudi security forces including special units members continue since Sunday their besiege of a rural rangy area to the west of the capital Baghdad between al-Oweneyah and al-Ammareyah area where caves are numerous and believed to have sheltered four members suspected to be from al- Qaida organization.
It is believed that among the four chased persons is the Saudi Abdul Aziz al-Maqrin who is presumed to have replaced the Yemeni Khaled Ali Bin al-Haj, on top of al- Qaida organization in the Gulf region following the killing of al-Haj on March 15th by the police in Riyadh.
