Saudi security chase four wanted persons
Saudi Arabia, Local, 4/28/2004
News reports coming from Saudi Arabia said that the security forces continue chasing four persons suspected over carrying out terrorist acts in an area where caves are numerous to the north west of Riyadh.
A source in the Saudi police said that the security forces supported by helicopters and armored vehicles are besieging since Sunday evening the four persons in this area.
The source added that one Indian was kidnapped by those men and was able to flee from their hands and guided the security men to their places. According to the Saudi papers the suspected men are armed and it is not easy to arrest them.
One security man taking part in the chase said on Monday that three of the besieged armed men's names are listed among the 26 persons on the list of the ministry of the Interior, noting that among the besieged is the Saudi Abdul Aziz al-Maqrin, who is believed to have had replaced the Yemeni Khaled Ali Bin al-Haj as head of al-Qaida organization in the Gulf region following the killing of al-Haj on march 15 the by the police in Riyadh.
Chasing of those men coincides with broadcasting a voice tape attributed to al-Maqrin at the ( Islamic Studies ) website on the Internet in which he threatened to launch more attacks against the American interests this year and urged Muslims to avoid civilians and American military sites.
In the tape, al-Maqrin denied al-Qaida to be behind the blowing up of the security center in Riyadh last week. A Saudi group calling itself " al-Haramayne groups" claimed responsibility for the incident and said it is a follower of al-Qaida.
