One American soldier was killed and other 8 wounded in a battle that took place in one mosque in Faluja, the most violent since the beginning of the cease fire implementation two weeks before, at a time the people of the city accused the occupation forces of using cluster bombs against them, announced they are seeking an international and Arab intervention to salvage them from their current crisis.
Operations deputy chairman in the American forces Mark Kemet said that " one Marine died because of his wounds and other 8 were injured." He explained that the marine soldiers were exposed to an attack by machine guns and shelling as from a mosque in al-Golan quarters to the northern west of the city.
He added that the American soldiers retaliated the sources of the fire and when they attacked the mosque they asked the people inside to come out and when no body got out they entered it and found it empty except from ammunition." One American journalist in Falujja quoted one officer of the naval troops that the resistance men forced them to retreat from two buildings after making them " fight for their own life."
