Bishara and the American Support to Israel
Palestine-Israel, Politics, 4/26/2004

The Palestinian intellectual Azmi Bishara stressed that American President George W. Bush ended his role in the peace process by adopting the Israeli stance, pointing out that the United States has changed its stance through assuming officially the Israeli position after being Israel's ally.

In a statement to Kuwaiti al-Rai al-Am newspaper published Saturday, Bishara underlined that the Palestinian-Israeli negotiations ended under the American patronage and guarantees to Israel, asserting that the United States was not an honest part in the peace process.

He also pointed out that the Israeli step in Gaza is part of an Israeli-American plan to impose the Israeli vision on the so-called the permanent solution between the Palestinians and the Israelis.

Bishara called upon the Arabs to crystallize steadfastness strategy and not to bet on the American policy.
