Maghreb, Local, 4/23/2004
The 8th African conference on Gas And oil finance and trade will be held in the Moroccan central city of Marrakesh this April 26-30, in the presence of some 800 officials and experts of oil prospecting and production.
The pan-African conference seeks to be a forum for decision-makers and financiers to debate the energy challenges facing the continent, compare their experiences and conclude joint ventures.
The encounter is held under the patronage of King Mohammed VI by the Moroccan state-owned hydrocarbons office (ONHYM), the energy and mining ministry, the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) and the International Trade and Exhibitions group.
Morocco will seize the opportunity to introduce professionals and companies to its newly-adopted code on hydrocarbons that allowed for a major boost of oil prospecting in all Moroccan regions.
