Al-Haramayn groups claim responsibility for Riyadh explosion

A group naming itself Al-Haramayn group claimed responsibility for the suicide attack which targeted the headquarters of the police in Riyadh on Wednesday evening, over which news reports were contradictory on the number of the victims between 4 and 8 and some 150 wounded, many of them are in critical health conditions.

News report quoted two Islamic websites on the Internet saying that Al-Haramayn groups targeted in its attacks the special security forces and the terrorism fighting unity in the kingdom.

This is, however, the first time in which the said groups announces an attack by it against targets inside the kingdom where clashes continues between the government and groups believed to be close to al-Qaida organization.

The Saudi crown prince Abdullah Ibn Abdul Aziz vowed to exterminate what he described as terrorism in the kingdom. The Saudi news agency quoted the crown prince as saying that the "criminal acts carried out by what he described the misled will be firmly challenged until they are uprooted."
