Arab Summit not to discuss Greater Middle East initiative
Regional, Politics, 4/22/2004

Arab League (AL) Secretary General Amr Moussa confirmed that the Arab Summit meeting will not discuss the U.S. Greater Middle East (GME) initiative, noting that the summit agenda includes Arab reform initiatives.

The AL has not yet officially received a copy of the GME project, added Moussa, stressing the importance of Arab reforms as the Arab world is now passing through a crossroads, so the development and change process should be sustainable and constant.

However, Advisor to the AL Secretary-General Hesham Youssef said Yesterday May 22 is not a final date for the coming summit, as the Tunisian Foreign Minister tours the Arab countries to discuss the suggested date.
