France ready to import Egyptian agricultural products

French Agricultural Minister Herve Gaymard said on Monday France is ready to import Egyptian agricultural products and export them to the other European markets.

In statements at the end of his three-day visit to Egypt, Gaymard lauded the fruitful cooperation between Egypt and France in the agricultural domain.

He said France and the other European countries can buy more of Egypt's fruits and vegetables after making sure of their quality.

Gaymard added that France is ready to provide Egypt's needs of grains, especially wheat.

Asked on cutting down the quantities of wheat exported to Egypt in 2003, he said this is because of the drought that hit France and led to a decrease in productivity.
