Tehran: al-Qathafi is ready for consultations concerning Moussa al-Sader

Iran announced yesterday it had received a message from the Libya Leader Muammar al-Qathafi in which he expressed Libya's readiness to hold " consultations with the Islamic Republic of Iran on the fate of Imam Moussa al-Sader.
While relations between Libya and the West are witnessing a detente following the sorting out of several accumulated issues, the spokesman for the Iranian foreign ministry Hameed Rida Aseiifi said that Tehran received a message from al-Qathafi in which he expressed his country's readiness to " make more consultations with Iran over Moussa al-Sader who disappeared during a visit to Tripoli in 1978.
The Iranian official news agency quoted Asefi as saying that " due to the interests shown by Iran on the fate of Imam Muqtada al-Sader, several measures were taken in this regard," announcing that Iran has received a message " in which the Libyan leader announces his country's position towards the said issue." Asefi stressed that the "Libyan government announced readiness to make more consultations with the Islamic republic of Iran in this regard. "
