Egypt-Sudan joint investments to manufacture furniture, vehicles

An agreement was concluded between the 6 of October City Investors Association under its chairman Mohamed Al-Menoufi and Sudanese businessmen on setting up several joint-ventures in the fields of furniture manufacture, car spare parts, juice and electricity equipment.
Secretary General of the City's Investors Society, Mohamed Khamis said the first project is an L.E. 50 million offset deal to import wood from Sudan and manufacture furniture in Egypt for export.
The second project would invest L.E. 120 million to manufacture vehicle chases in cooperation with Egyptian expertise for export.
The third joint-venture will import fruit from Sudan for processing juice in Egypt.
