Al-Assad confers with Qaddoumi

Syria's President Bashar al-Assad received on Monday Head of the PLO Political Department Farouk al-Qaddoumi. The latest developments in the occupied Palestinian lands and the ongoing consultations on convening the Arab summit were the center of talks during the meeting.

Also, Foreign Minister Farouk al-Shara received al-Qaddoumi and the accompanying delegation. Al-Shara stressed the importance of reaching an active united Arab stance to face the current developments, pointing out to President Bashar al-Assad's efforts to close Arab rank and prepare well for the Arab summit to come out with decisions that match up to the challenges at this critical stage.
