On the relations between Syria and the Palestinian Authority
Syria-Palestine, Politics, 4/9/2004

Member of the Executive Committee for the PLO, Samir Ghosheh, praised in a statement on Thursday Syria's support of the Palestinian people in his legal struggle to restore legitimate rights.

He said he talked with Foreign Minster Farouq al-Shara over holding the Arab summit and Syria's efforts in this regard and tragic events inflicted by the Israeli forces of occupation against the Palestinians.

The Palestinian official stressed the Israeli threats would but make the Palestinians more determined to get their freedom and independence. He ruled out any differences among Palestinian factions reported in the press.

Foreign Minister Farouq al-Shara on Thursday received a message from Chairman of the Palestinian National Authority Yasser Arafat to President Bashar al-Assad.

Member of the Executive Committee for the Palestinian Liberation Organization Samir Ghosheh handed the message to al-Shara in the meeting that has dealt with the continuous Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people.

Al-Shara stressed the significance of backing the national unity among Palestinians describing it as the guarantor to strengthen his steadfastness and to achieve his aspirations of freedom and establishing his state on his land.
