Al-Assad receives Arinc

Syria's President Bashar al-Assad on Thursday received the Turkish Speaker of the Grand National assembly Bulent Arinc and an accompanying delegation.

Talks during the meeting dealt with the distinguished friendly ties between the two countries, and the role the two parliaments in Syria and Turkey play in strengthening these ties.

Talks also focused on the latest developments in the region and issues of mutual concern. Both sides stressed the necessity of boosting the cooperation ties between both countries, particularly between the two parliaments, and increasing the exchange of visits and expertise in the interest of the two peoples.

Present at the meeting was People Assembly's Speaker Mahmoud al-Abrash.

Later, PA Speaker Abrash held a lunch banquet in honor of Arinc and the accompanying delegation.
