Exports to US surpass $ 1 billion

Egypt's Minister of Foreign Trade Youssef Boutros Ghali said that President Hosni Mubarak's visit to the U.S. comes before the background of a tangible progress in Egyptian exports to the U.S. markets hitting $ 1143.8 million in 2003 compared to $ 942.5 million in 2002 at 21.4% increase.

Egyptian exports consist of ready-made clothes hitting $ 464.2 million in 2003 compared to $ 416.5 million in 2002. Fertilizers and chemical exports to the U.S. hiked to $ 74.1.1 million in 2003 compared to $ 37.47 million in the previous year at 97.78% increase.
