Inter- Syrian Christian- Muslim dialogue
Syria, Politics, 4/5/2004

Syria's Grand Mufti Sheikh Ahmad Keftaro on Saturday reviewed with Patriarch of Syriac Orthodox in the world, Zaka I Iwas, the importance of a sincere work and coordination for returning back to the main basis of religions as heavenly messages aiming at enhancing noble values and morals.

Both sides highly lauded Syria's firm principled stances which call for the achievement of just and comprehensive peace in the region.

They called on the international community to support the Palestinian people, their just cause and right to liberate their territories, establish their independent state with Jerusalem as its capital and right to self-determination.

They also called on the international community to work to realize just and comprehensive peace to all peoples of the region, end the occupation of Iraq and to enable the Iraqis to manage their affairs by themselves.
