Syrian ambassador presents his credentials to President Bush

The Syrian Ambassador, Emad Moustafa on Wednesday presented his credentials to US. President George. W. Bush.

Following the meeting Moustafa told reporters that President Bush pointed out to the difficulties that engulfs the American-Syrian relations but Bush was clear in showing his point of view that there are prospects of improving these relations.

He added that President Bush expressed belief that Syria can play a leading role in the Middle East due to its cultural and civilized diversity.

The ambassador indicated that Syria believes that there are common denominators that can be the basis for the improvement of the Syrian-American relations, and Syria has a clear vision in that regard and the constructive dialogue can help much more than the prevalence of tension between the two countries. The ambassador described his meeting with Bush as cordial and frank.
