Clashes on Teizi Ozo because of Butaflika's visit

The election campaign tour of the Algerian president Abdul Aziz Butaflika in one of the largest cities of the Berber Kabayel area of Teizi Ozo, coincided with violent confrontations between the police and the protesting Berbers that ended in detaining many of them.
The clashes erupted following an electoral gathering organized by Butaflika in the city which he was visiting for the first time since the eruption of Tanseqiyat al-Oroush ( one of the major families ) in the area three years ago, in the course of his campaign to presidential elections new term of office on April 8th. Strong clashes took place between the demonstrators and the police forces in charge of protecting Butaflika's meeting in "the house of Culture." The police waited until the President's has left and fired tear bombs and used water pipes to disperse the demonstrators and most of them are youngsters.
Last Monday Butaflika visited Bejjaya ( 260 Km to the east of the capital) the second largest cities in al-Kabayel area, where he had organized an electoral meeting after which light incidents took place, according to witnesses.
