Syrian-Lebanese water Ministerial Committee meets in Beirut

The Syrian-Lebanese ministerial Committee for water held on Wednesday a meeting chaired by Irrigation Minister Nadir al-Buni and the Lebanese Minster of Water and Energy Aiyoub Hammed in the presence of the Lebanese Ð Syrian Higher Council Secretary General Nasri al-Khouri.
The two sides discussed issues of mutual concern, particularly water and its resources and the joint projects between the two states. Buni said the visit comes in the framework of completing what has been put on the agenda of the Higher council which includes a series of joint projects between the two countries, especially the projects on the Orontes river.
He added both sides reached the final stages of the Orontes project in order to organize its route and invest it in the interest of the two states. Hammed, for his part, said the visit of the Syrian delegation comes in preparation for the projects of water, irrigation and joints works, particularly starting the work in the Orontes dam.
